How can i get a faster download speed?

My computer has a really slow download speed and i was wondering if there is anyway to make it higher. All my friends can download files like twice as fast than me. Please give me some tips cuz i don’t always wanna wait hours for a download to finish.

its depend on your internet speed!! but you can increase speed slightly by installing software like download manager, download accelerator etc.

check your internet and dont open anything but the download thing
Well who is your internet service provider (ISP), and what kind of connection do you have?
get spyware and clear your history on internet.. makes it go way faster
upgrade graphics card go to finally fast .com upgrade ram and delete things you rlly rlly do not need
get a new internet thing

Are you running other programs besides the downloader itself? Ex. Aim, Yahoo Messenger, MSN? If so, close them!! And if that doesn’t work, you’re internet is just womp womp wompppppppp.
Do you have dial-up? broadband or DSL???
Get a faster internet provider.
It can even be your computer or even the program you’re using to download stuff.
Get comcast!!! lol if you got the money…I pay like 100 bucks a month..my pc wiz uncle came and was just plain out impressed tht it took 2 seconds to upload…
HI is saw this comertial and it was to help people with their computers for free i think its for free what ever people are going to say go to the computer store or somthing like that but thats not what you do. you go to finnalyfast.com and the commershal just said do it from their it makes your computer not get viruses and makes it much faster for free i think bye i hop that i have helped bye:) email me if it has worked BYE
Ok, here is what’s going down. Download speed is determined by 2 main factors..
1. Your Line Speed, which is the connection from your house to your near local exchange. Another word your location plays a big factor.
2. The service your downloading from. Meaning you can have the fastest download speed in the world, but if your downloading from a Dial up Server then you will only go as fast as the server.
