There’s two common ways…
1) in Finder, go to Applications in the sidebar then simply drag MSN to the trash can, then in Spotlight search for MSN to see if there are any plist files left hanging around that can be deleted (this step is optional)
2) Use an application uninstaller like AppZapper or AppCleaner to remove it, these apps will take care of the optional steps that’ll leave your system a bit cleaner
Look in your applications folder if msn is removed there. If not, drag it also to the trash. The same for the icon on your desktop. Drag it to the trash.
OR
1. Normal uninstall first.
2. After this, I searched for "Microsoft" with Spotlight, and after that I manually deleted the following file:
com.microsoft.Messenger.plist
…and the following folder:
Microsoft Messenger Data
