This will even save Offline messages.
I have this on 2 of my laptops.during the day – depending on what my mood is is where i will be chatting
There is no difference – or actual break in conversation
i tried a test
Started a conversation with a friend in one room, logged off and then back in – in another and the conersation picked up right where I left off.
and the neatest thing was I ran the conversation importer again-
and found my messages from years ago! I now have them saved.
You do not have to be "logged into the WEBSITE’ at all times, just the dexrex extension. This will even get your OFFLINE messages.

Take-the tour

This program is easy-but if you want one that when you LOOK at your archives it looks like your Messenger list – It’s so awesome
try IM- HISTORY same concept as DEXREX
the difference – there is a IM-HSTORY BROWSER: and it also records as you type your messages to each other.
This one saves smilies and such –
BOTH OF THEM:
timestamps messages
runs from taskbar – staying out of the way
hae conversation importers
keep statistics of amt of messages sent and received- it’s intersting
HERE IS THE LOCATION OF YOUR MESSAGE ARCHIVES
(if left on computer –
Your message archives when enabled are stored on your computer and no one can get ahold of it.
You can back them up and remove them off your computer:
HERE IS WHERE YOUR FILES ARE LOCATED :
In Windows XP, the location of the log files (.dat) is typically as follows, unless the installation directory was changed:
C:\
Program Files
\Yahoo!\Messenger
\Profiles\
<yahoo_username>
In Windows Vista, the new location of the log files have been moved to the user’s AppData directory:
To access the directory, just copy and paste the Profiles folder path shown above into Windows Explorer’s address bar. Change <windows_usrnme>
and <yahoo_username> as necessary.
C:\Users\<windows_usrnme>
\AppData\Local
\VirtualStore\
Program Files\
Yahoo!\Messenger
\Profiles
\<yahoo_username>
(for x86 version of Windows)
C:\Users\<windows_usrnme>\
AppData\Local\VirtualStore
\Program Files (x86)\Yahoo!\Messenger
\Profiles\<yahoo_username>
Then you use Yahoo messenger archive viewer or some other decoder to read them.
Yahoo Messenger archive viewer

READ MORE ABOUT ARCHIVES- since each computer is different.

This used to be for me the best option, now i dont think of it! Because the other works so well
