The torrent protocol depends in how much people is seeding (giving shared bandwidth to the file).
So if 150 people is giving the bandwidth to the file and less people is leeching (downloading) the file you’ll get a better transfer rate and your file will download faster.
if 10 people is seeding and 50 people is leeching your download will delay weeks or even a month… depending on the file size.
for a 3.5GB file with 100 seeders and 50 leechers maybe 2 weeks…
The 3 factors that you got to have in mind when downloading the torrent are:
1. Your Internet connection speed
2. How much seeders and leechers this torrent file has
3. The File Size of your download
Having this in mind while selecting which torrent to download will make your torrent experience much pleasant.
Remember that the bitorrent protocol is a community so if you download pls seed the file you downloaded.
Hope This Helps.
Unfortunately, even with your high-speed connection, the download would still vary depending on the speed of the torrent seeders.
Torrents are usually quicker to download because the torrent is broken up into pieces and you’d just download the pieces that are available from anyone who’s uploading (seeding) the torrent you’re downloading.
Bad thing about that, especially if you’re downloading a torrent with multiple files, is that you could have a mess of incomplete files before you’ll have any one complete file. But I do know that, if you’re running a torrent client that lets you set priorities, like Azureus, you’d be able to set specific files (episodes, etc.) to have a higher priority so you’d be more likely to have some full episodes to watch before the torrent is complete.
