I have recently bought a new computer, and I am having trouble downloading Windows Live Messenger. When I go onto http://get.live.com/messenger/overview and click on ‘Get it free’, this comes up:
Server not found
Firefox can’t find the server at download.microsoft.com.
* Check the address for typing errors such as
ww.example.com instead of
www.example.com
* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer’s network
connection.
* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
I’ve tried everything I can, but nothing works. Anyone help?
I’ve also tried on IE. This comes up:
Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage
Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address.

I’ve gone to yahoo and clicked on Messenger. After it downloads the program I open it to install the program. I then get a message stating that messenger can not be installed due to the firewall. After making the change to allow yahoo messenger through the firewall, I get the exact same message. Please help.

I recently upgraded from windows vista home premium to windows 7 hope premuim using a ‘clean install’. I then installed the latest Windows Live Messenger, and it wouldn’t let me sign on. Windows Live support told me it may be my NVIDA driver, but i don’t think it is as i’ve tried to disable it. I’m not sure what to do, my firewall is not blocking it nor is my antivirus.
