I know it’s possible to change the settings in Yahoo! Messenger to only accept instant messages from people on my friend list. I’ve been plagued by regular porn spam, and the obfuscate settings in Yahoo Messenger is frustrating. I can’t find the bloody setting for instant messages.

I want to retrieve my instant messages from my yahoo messenger wherein I used a different computer.

I allowed my friends to send me instant messages via MSN messenger, but I recieve so many that it’s costing me a lot. I don’t want to tell my friends not to send me any more messages, instead, I want to allow just a few of them to send me messages, how can I block the rest and probably unblock them later??

My Facebook is Showing my Instant Messages from now and some from a while ago into my Message Inbox. But everyone else that i talk to doesnt have the same problem and im wondering why?
Okay But its not doing it on everyones facebook just a few peoples and i dont understand that. I am online i never went offline so i dont know what it could be i never did anything different.

I would like to sign on without someone having to sign me on. I know how to send instant messages but I don’t know how to just sign i without someone signing me in.

I can see the message that I type in the bottom window but when I send it, it doesn’t appear in the top window.I don’t get my received instant messages either.

I’m thinking about buying a Sidekick LX, with a 300 minute voice plan (), plus unlimited messaging (), but no data plan. If I have no Sidekick Data Plan, will I still be able to send/recieve instant messages? (since IM’s count as texts, right?)

I am new to Facebook and I hate the knocking sound it makes when someone Instant Messages me! Is there anyway to change the settings on Facebook IM?

From last few days, i am receiving some vulgar "Instant Messages" on my yahoo messenger. And profile of that instant message is disable. I can see his mail id
(in bracket) only. Can you please tell me how can i know who have send this message. & also how can i know is it send by mobile sms. And if it send by mobile then how can i know his no. It is very urgent.

I have seen some people have automated messages in yahoo chat rooms,telling that they do not accept instant messages.How do you do that?
