I’m trying to install Yahoo Messenger 10 or 11 on Windows XP (SP3) and continuously get errors saying that "This application didn’t install (or start) correctly because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem." It doesn’t. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled a number of ways (normal, safe) and continue to get the same error. Has anyone else seen this problem?

I need to re-install Windows XP, and then Yahoo Messenger. The last time I did this all my contacts were gone and I had to add them (and ask them for permission) one-by-one. Does anyone know of a way to preserve the contact list?

Ok- so i’m running Windows XP Professional SP2. I love downloading & changing my icons, cursors, fonts, etc. And while i have come across many great & lovely icons, i only find really nice cursors here & there.

So the other day i found the cutest star cursors- they’re perfect, nicely rendered, all that good stuff (of course they are- i got them on Deviant Art . BUT, when i went to install them, i realized they were all PNG cursors(!?)- i’ve never even seen PNG cursors.

Help me, what do i do? I know how to convert PNG’s to ICO’c for icons, but not PNG cursors. Do i have to convert them to something? To .cur or ani. ? Is that even possible? If so, what FREE app can i use?

I finally found girly cursors that are cute & made nicely (extra points for whoever tells me more cute cursor sites ) =^..^=

It says something along the lines of it cant be downloaded to anything older than windows xp, and something like that. I have xp, its really beginning to bug me. Any help would be great thanks. x

every time i download the new windows live messenger an error pops up n it says check for updates !! the problem is i dnt have a genuine windows XP , n its so hard to get one in my country ,, is there a way that i can download the new one without the updates ??

i had to do a system recovery. now i try to load windows messenger and it wont work.i keep getting a messege saying windows xp is unsupported, can anyone help?

I dont know what my stupid stepdad did to the computer, but everytime i try to download Windows live messenger, it does not work. This pops up – first it says "you have chosen to open wlinstaler.exe which is a: Binary File from: http://download.microsoft.com
would you like to save this file?" Then i click save file then on my computer a "wlinstaller" icon appears on the desktop so i click it and up pops a box saying here "Do you want to save this file?
name: wlinstaller.exe".. and such and then i click Run, then a box appears saying "Sorry, windows live programs cannot be installed on windows server, windows XP professional x64 edition, or windows operating systems earlier then windows xp service pack 2"
