A good reason for your comp. being slow inconsistently is if you are on a wireless network or if other computers are hooked to your network. You may not be the only computer on your wireless network though you think you might be. People near by could be using your wireless and with all these people connected, it'll slow you down from time to time, especially if the download big files from the internet. Also, those screensavers you download inevitably will install spyware and adware on your computer with every download. And if the spyware decides to start running, it'll slow down your system. Spyware destroyers sometimes won't detect everything. yeah it could be screensavers, but it would run slow everyday.
